Jeremiah N. Johns
Jeremiah Johns serves as Of Counsel for Petkovich Law Firm where he represents clients in maritime injury, Longshore and Harbor Workers Compensation Act, and other personal injury and workers compensation matters. Prior to beginning his own practice, Mr. Johns defended maritime insurers in hundreds of personal injury and workers compensation claims throughout the United States. His past experiences have given him a keen understanding of how insurance companies defend and evaluate claims, helping him maximize recovery for his clients.
Mr. Johns grew up on a family farm in Southeast Georgia where he learned the value of hard work at an early age. He attended Syracuse University where he received his Juris Doctorate with honors and served as associate editor of The Digest and captain of the arbitration team. Longing to return to the South, Mr. Johns moved to New Orleans to work for a regional maritime litigation firm while attending the Masters in Laws program at Tulane University Law School, graduating with an advanced degree in Admiralty Law.
Through his years of practice he has handled cases in both federal and state court, as well as before various federal and state administrative agencies. Mr. Johns represents a wide range of individuals and businesses in both litigation and transactional matters, primarily focusing on maritime litigation, business law, real estate transactions, workers compensation, and property casualty.
